The Youth Ventures Program is designed to promote entrepreneurial awareness
in the young people of Newfoundland and
Labrador. It helps them become entrepreneurs in order to open their
own business. It provides youth with the skills to be
successful business people.
The Youth Ventures Program offers:
· one-on-one business counseling;
· training on how to write business and marketing plans;
· assistance on marketing, bookkeeping, and financing;
· access to financing;
· a mentor in the business community; and
· a chance to learn the ropes of being an entrepreneur.
Who can participate?
If you're a young person interested in starting a summer business,
you can apply to be a part of the Youth Ventures Program.
All you need is a good idea for a business plus energy, creativity
and drive.
Why would I want to get involved in Youth Ventures?
Youth Ventures gives you the tools you need to create your own summer
employment. It
provides you with business and marketing skills, and practical hands-on
experience. Some Youth Ventures participants not only
create their own jobs, but hire other people to work for them as well.
If you see a need or opportunity for a business in your
community, we can help you. There are a lot of new businesses you can
start in tourism, manufacturing, and the services
industry, to name a few.
Do I need my own money?
If you have your own money to get your business off the ground, that's
great. If you don't, that's okay too. We can help you get
funding for your business through programs aimed at helping young entrepreneur.
How do I get involved?
The Youth ventures Program is available across Newfoundland and Labrador.
If you're
interested in learning more about the program and becoming an entrepreneur,

young entrepreneur with mentors - business people in your community
