| The communities of Cape St. George and Mainland have been joined by a ten (10) kilometer road, in an effort to promote interaction between the communities, and as a result promote the French Culture and language.

| Ecole Notre Dame Du Cap, in Cape St. George, is a French Emersion school. It caters to children at the Preschool level up to and including Grade 9. After Grade 9 children go to Ecole Ste. Anne in Mainland.

| The community of Cape St. George celebrates "Une Longue Veillee," every August. This is a folk festival celebrating French heritage. In recent years, this festival has attracted traditional musicians, singers and dancers from all over the province and a host of visitors and performers from the Maritime Provinces, Quebec and the French Islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon.
